Nantucket Bound

After spending a week at the Cape, we headed off to Nantucket with friends.  I've never been to Nantucket (or if I did it was a looooong time ago and I don't remember it) so I was looking forward to the vacation.  We rented a house for the week just a short distance from the town and beaches.  Unfortunately we didn't have the best weather while we were there and starting on Wednesday it was pretty much rainy and cloudy for the rest of our stay.  We had a bit of cabin fever going on but we made the best of it while we were there.  Here are some pictures from the week.

Bon Voyage!

Day 1 on the beach was beautiful!

Amanda and I rented a paddleboard for an hour.  It was my first time on one but it was pretty easy to pick up.

One night we went to a carnival on the island.  Jack had a blast going on all the rides.  Will on the other hand was so pre-occupied with the games and winning a prize that he missed out on all the rides.

After a couple days of bad weather, it cleared up a little so we headed to the beach to try and take advantage of the what little sun we had while it was out.

Sara was not liking the wind or the picture taking.

Last day and it finally cleared up so we could enjoy the beach!

A final group picture before we left.  We had a fun week and look forward to going back at some point soon!

The Graduate

We have a graduate in the house!  Preschool graduate that is.  After almost 4 years of being at Bright Horizons, Will graduated from preschool on June 23rd.  The teachers put together an adorable ceremony complete with singing, graduation cap and diploma, flower for the moms and an after party.   I knew I was going to be a little emotional that day for a variety of reasons.  Primarily because I can't believe he is old enough to go to kindergarten...no more baby!  But it's also sad knowing that he won't see many of his friends again since they live in different towns and won't be going to school him them in the fall.   Fortunately, most of that is lost on Will and he is already looking ahead to kindergarten and which of his town friends will be in his class.

The teachers shared a quote from Dr. Seuss which was so fitting for the event:

"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened"
