Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Oops..thought I posted this one a while back but just realized I never did!  Will went to his first Red Sox game back in June and got to enjoy a full day of dad/son activities.  I think Will's favorite part of the day was getting to pick out his Dustin Padroia jersey (in the picture)

Happy Birthday Sara!!

Happy birthday to our sweet pumpkin!  It's hard to believe a year has passed already since you were born.  You are such a sweet, easy going, happy baby.  I can't imagine our life without you!!  We wish you a lifetime of happiness and health and look forward to celebrating many more milestones with you!  We love you!!

First Day of Pre-School!

The Jack-man started preschool this past week!  He is attending the preschool in town and he was very excited for his first day.  I was a little nervous how he was going to do seeing he was at a new school, with new teachers and all new kids in his class.  The first day I went with him and we spent an hour exploring the classroom,  meeting the teachers and the other kids in his class.  After we left Jack announced "I love my new school!"
Here are some pictures from Jack's first day.

My fingers crossed that the 2nd day would go as well since I wouldn't be staying with him.  When I dropped him off, he gave me a hug and ran off to play with some of the toys in the room. Success!

Soccer Opening Day

Last weekend kicked off the official start to soccer season!  This year we have two soccer players in the house now that Jack is playing on his own team.  Our Sunday's are a little crazy with both games which may or may not be back to back on a given weekend.  Eric is coaching both boys teams which just adds to the craziness of the day.

Jack has been talking about playing soccer for 6 months now.  I thought the first game would be awesome...he'd run out there and start playing since he has been asking to play for so long now.  Well that thought was quickly squashed when we got to the field and had a minor meltdown because his shoes were untied yet he wouldn't let us tie them, then he hung on Eric's leg for the first 30 minutes and then once the game started, he stood in the field as everyone ran by him and just stared at them.  hmm....we weren't off to a good start.
Pep talk from dad.

And then all of a sudden...BAM...with 10 minutes left of the game, he turned into a soccer superstar.  He was running up and down the field and waving to me on the sidelines.

Fingers crossed that the game this weekend goes as well as the last 10 minutes did!

Next up was Will's game.  In Will's words, he is the best player on the team.  As you can tell we have no modesty in this household.  He was all about how good he was, how many goals he was going to get and how fast he could run.  At least we didn't have to beg him to go out on the field!

Goal!

First Day of Kindergarten!!

I still can't believe it but Will is officially a kindergartener!!  School started the day after Labor Day and a week and half later, we are full into the swing of things. So far Will seems to be loving school.  As much as he likes school itself,  I think his favorite part of the entire day is the bus ride to and from school where he gets to socialize with all his neighborhood friends!

On the first day, I went with Will to school for a 2 hour orientation.  We met his teacher, explored the classroom and and met the kids in his class.  Fortunately Will knew some of the kids in his class so he jumped right in with no hesitation.

There was no holding this boy back.  He immediately started playing with all his new friends when we got to school.

The next day was his first official full day at school which meant taking the school bus to school like a big kid.  I'll just say that I did have some hesitations about him taking the bus.  The thought of the doors closing behind him and me having no control about what goes on from that point forward was scary!  I made sure to impart all my motherly wisdom on him before sending him off on his own.  I'm not sure how much actually suck in but it made me feel better!

Will was anxious for the bus to arrive but we got a few cute photos before he headed to school.

Photographer Jack snapped a few pictures too...

 Here comes the bus!!

I did shed a few tears when the bus door closed behind him.  But at the same time, he was so excited to be going to school that I was excited for him too.  This is the start of such a new and fun time for him that it is hard to be sad.  There have been a few days where I wish I could just keep him home for the day with me.  Five days is a lot to get used to.  Not only for him but me too!!
