7 Months!

Happy 7 month birthday Sara!  I'm feeling a little bad that she hasn't been getting much blog time lately.   People always told me that the youngest tends to get the fewest number of pictures taken and I can now understand why.  However, I'm consciously trying not to let them happen but even with that in mind it's still hard!  The funny thing is I just looked back at Jack's 7 month blog and I said the same thing about not having a lot of pictures.  I probably (definitely) have a distorted view of what a lot of pictures really is.

Anyways, Sara had a great month and is getting so big, even though still relatively a peanut compared to the boys.  Here are some highlights from the month....

- Sara loves to eat and whenever I pull out the jar of food or box of cereal she starts waving her arms and making noises.  She has been eating two meals a day and I've been holding off on starting lunch since it's just one more thing to add into our already busy schedule.  I have to say she is probably the neatest eater I've ever seen for a baby.  I don't even need to use a bib....I guess that's the difference between boys and girls.  Will and Jack would have it everywhere by the time they were done with their meal.
- Sara is a sitting up champ and rarely falls over (unless of course she is bulldozed over by Will or Jack).  She loves playing with her toys while she is sitting, however, her favorites seem to be Ninja Turtles, superheros and anything that belongs to Will or Jack.  For now, the boys don't mind it but I'm sure at some point they are going to get annoyed that their little sister is playing with their toys.
- Sara is doing awesome in the sleep department.  Two long naps during the day and she sleeps from 7:30pm until 6am.  The best thing about Sara and sleeping is that I can just put her into her crib awake and then walk out of the room and she goes to bed all on her own.  No hand holding, laying on the floor, sneaking out of the room like we had to do with Will and Jack.  I guess by the third you finally learn (and just don't have time for the hour long routines).
- Sara still really isn't into rolling over but has started reaching forward while she is sitting on the ground like she wants to start crawling.  I'm in no hurry for her to start crawling.
- Sara is so inquisitive with her big eyes.  When someone says hi to her in the hopes of getting a little smile, she just stares at them with her big eyes trying to figure out who this person is and why are they talking to her.  It's so funny because the two boys would smile at anyone that looked in their direction, but not Sara.  She needs to figure out who you are first before she's giving anything up.
- Lastly, Sara's eyes are still a bluish color.  Definitely not brown yet, but not 100% blue so we'll see what happens.  Maybe hazel?

So that's everything for the month!  Here are some pictures of Sara......

Sara's first experience with Cheerios.  For the ones that made it into her mouth, she did pretty well chewing them.
However, there were plenty that didn't make it into her mouth and here's where they ended up!
Loves her highchair!
Some one on one time with her big brother.

My little fashionista!  Thanks Auntie Martha and Uncle Jeff for my cute outfit.

Opening Day

This past weekend was opening day for Norfolk Baseball.  We signed Will up to play t-ball and as you can tell from the pictures below, he is very excited!  We started the weekend off with the opening day parade where all the baseball teams marched in a parade and then participated in a baseball ceremony.  Then Will had his first game the following day (at 9am and it was cold out!).  Watching a bunch of 5 year old boys dressed up in their uniform playing baseball is probably one of the cutest things I have ever seen.

I'm so happy he likes it and one of his best friends is on the team with him which makes it even more fun for him.  Here are some pictures from the weekend!
Waiting for the parade to start.
Will is the first one in red on the left.
Warming up before the big game.

Here is Will's first at bat!

Future Basketball Star!

I think we have a future basketball star on our hands.  Jack was on fire today shooting hoops and must have gotten the ball in the hoop at least 50 times!  Go Jack!

Easter Weekend

Here are some pictures from Easter weekend at the cape!  We had a great time with nana, papi, Uncle Jeff and Auntie Martha, Jakob and even got to spend time with Grandma and Judu while we were there too.  The weather was beautiful and the kids even got to run around on the beach.  Overall a very relaxing weekend!

Cousins!

The Easter bunny treated Sara very well for her first Easter.   She got lots of cute dresses for the summer.

Will refused to take a picture in the morning.
Fortunately Jack was more than happy to.
Sara had fun playing with the grass.

Arrrrrr Matey!

This weekend we finally celebrated Will's birthday with his friends.  Will wanted a pirate themed party  which I was so excited about.  There are some great pirate party ideas out there so I couldn't resist and went a little crazy with the planning.  We invited 26 kids (not including my two) expecting that we'd have a good number of declines since it was the first weekend of April vacation.   Well, I was definitely wrong about that and all but three said they could come.  So we ended up with 24 little kids (mostly boys),  about 20 adults and 5 siblings at our house for the party.   Thank the lord the weather ended up in our favor otherwise I'm not quite sure what we would have done.

What would a pirate party be without a pirate themed invite.  Everyone received a message in the bottle invitation to get the pirate theme going.
Day of the party, we had a sign welcoming everyone when they arrived.
The kids got to dress up as a pirate with bandana, hat, eyepatch, sword and even a tattoo!
Will and Jack all dressed up before everyone arrived.  Pirate shirts courtesy of Grandma and Judu.

The dessert table.

Pirate ship cupcakes.  I found a really cute free template online that I just had to print out and cut.  The internet is a fabulous place.
Pirate ship cookies for all the kids to take home.
When the kids arrived, they went on a treasure dig.  They were given a list of treasure items to find in the sandbox.  The kids really seemed to enjoy this!
The first game of the day....Walk the Plank!
Here is half the group at the start of the party. This was all I could wrangle into a photo so I had to go with it.

The craziness began right after this photo was taken and any hope of getting other pictures quickly went to the wayside.  Trying to have any sort of calmness with 24 kids running around with swords is near impossible.  So we went with it and the kids had a blast.  We were able to run the games and the highlight of the day was the pinata.  Looking back on the party, I could have handed the kids swords and let them go at it for 1.5 hours and they would have been happy.

Once everyone left, my friend grabbed my camera and took a couple pictures.  I wish I had thought of handing my camera to someone else earlier.  Oh well!  Everyone had fun but I am happy this party is behind us!  Not a good idea to start planning almost 2 months ahead of time...way too much time to think about things!

Happy month long birthday Will!
