Love at First Site

We got a few hand me down Barbie's the other day along with a few other girly things.  I opened the suitcase to show Sara and her eyes went wide.  She picked each doll one at a time and looked at them.   She was hooked...love at first site.

Looks Who's Riding Now!

Jack is!  He finally agreed to take off his training wheels last week.  At first he wouldn't leave the grass but once he got onto the road there was no stopping him.  Go Jack!!!

Run Now, Wine Later

I ran my first 5K this past weekend with some of my friends from town.  Of all races to pick as my first, I think this was probably the best.  Run 3.5 miles and at the end there was wine tasting and a huge BBQ waiting for us.  I had a great time and despite the humidity, I came in 108 out of 500+ people that ran the race!  Not bad for my first race!!

Cheers!

There was a large Norfolk contingent at the race.  Here's a picture of all the woman that ran it!  I think we made up a large portion of the race!

Boys Day Out

The boys had a fun day at the fire house today. Friends of ours won a fire house visit at an auction which included a fire truck ride to and from the house, a tour of the fire house and a chance to wash two of the fire trucks.  The boys had a blast washing the truck and loved riding in the truck.   On the tour of the fire house, the fire chief was talking to the boys about when you call 911.  Everyone raised their hands and gave examples of when you call 911.  Jack raised his hand and said "when you get a boot to the head."  What??  Where does this kid come from?

Jack's First Day

Jack's first day of school was last week.  He started with orientation on Monday and his first full day on Wednesday.  I can't believe he only has one more year of preschool.  He's been my little buddy ever since I stopped working so I'm already not looking forward to him starting kindergarten!  But we have an entire year to go so I won't get ahead of myself.  Jack was excited to start since many of his friends from last year are in his class again this year.  His teachers seem really nice so I know he is going to have a great year in Pre-K!

I tried getting a few pictures but Jack was being a stinker and wouldn't smile no matter how nicely I asked him to.
So Sara took it into her own hands to try and make him smile.
And this was the struggle that ensued.....

 Thanks for trying Sara!
Here are a few pictures of Jack's orientation a couple days before his first day.  Jack has a few friends from last year in his class so he was very excited to see them again.  Here is Jack and his friend Ben.
And here they are being silly.
Sara loved Jack's classroom and I think if I would have let her she would have stayed the entire day!  She made herself comfortable at the table with all of Jack's classmates.

Birthday Celebration

We had a playgroup birthday party for Sara and her friends who all turn (or already turned) two within a few weeks of each other.   The cupcakes were the hit of the party and the rest of the party consisted of Sara pulling her toys away from her friends as she said "mine" which then made everyone cry.   No one can say Sara is going to be a push over.
We continued the celebration with dinner and cake.  Sara loved when we sang Happy Birthday to her and joined in by singing "Happy Happy".  I love this little girl....

Happy Birthday Sara

Happy Birthday to our sweet 2 year old!!  It feels like just yesterday you were born and now you are smart, silly, loving, independent, happy, rough and tumble girly girl.  We love how you can play with your baby dolls one minute and then run around the yard kicking the soccer ball with your brothers the next minute.  You are one feisty little lady and we can't wait to see what the future holds for you.  We love you so much!!

Last Days of Summer

We spent the last weekend of the summer at the cape enjoying the beach and the beautiful weather.  I really am sad that summer is over.  It went by way too fast this year, however, I can't complain too much since we enjoyed it to the fullest.   We are right back into the swing of things at school and it feels like summer was forever ago.  I guess we at least get to enjoy all the fun fall activities before winter kicks in but I'm still missing all the fun we had this summer.  Here are a few last pictures from the beach.

Enjoying our last ice cream on the beach from Miss Nikki the ice cream lady.
Sara enjoyed it to the fullest.
Rocking the aviators

Golf Fan in Training

Will is a golf fanatic already at the age of 6.  Him and Jack spend most of their time lately out in the yard with their golf clubs practicing their swings. Will also loves watching Golf Central on tv and mentally takes notes of everything he sees and then goes outside and practices what he learns.  Honestly, I figured our boys would be into sports but never imagined how obsessed they would be at only 6 years old.

Last weekend, Eric took Will to the golf tournament at the TPC.  Will loved seeing all the golfers especially his favorite Ricky Fowler.  He even managed to get a ball from Hunter Mahan (see picture above) and Ernie Els said hello to him!

Celebrating Baby Dugas

We celebrated the newest addition to the Dugas family today at Martha's baby shower!  Only a few more weeks until baby D's arrival and we all can't wait to meet him.  Congrats Jeff and Martha!

1st Day of 1st Grade!

Will started 1st grade this week!  1st grade?!?!  When did that happen?  He was so excited about his teacher and his classmates that there was no first day jitters for this boy.  The only thing he said he was a little nervous about was finding his classroom since he didn't know which room it was, however, he wasn't nervous enough to let it take over the excitement for his first day.

When he got off the bus at the end of the day, I asked him how his day went and his reply was "FANTASTIC!"  I couldn't ask for a better response.  His favorite part of the day was the fact that he got his own desk and that the teachers give out tickets to the students when they are good and listen to direction. Once you get 15 tickets, you win a prize.  Will is a competitive kid so this is right up his alley.  Every day he gets off the bus he tells me how many tickets he has and that he is in the lead.  This teacher doesn't know who she is up against.  This boy will try and win every prize in her box.

Happy 1st day of school Will!!

Poor Jack was sad that Will was leaving him.  He was used to having Will to play with all summer long and now he was going to be gone all day.  Every time I look at this picture it makes me laugh.  Will and Sara with their smiles and poor Jack so sad at the end.  However, Jack got over it pretty quickly one Will got on the bus.
Here comes the bus!
Sara was more than happy to smile for a few more pictures after Will left.  She is such a ham in front of the camera now.
