Bread and Milk

Well, I can say this was a first.  My kids have fallen asleep and slept in a variety of random places but the grocery shopping cart has to top them all.  With an impending snow storm on the way, I had to run to the grocery store to pick up a couple of essential items.  It was prime nap time and Sara fell asleep in the car on the way to the store.  I had no choice but to carry her into the store so I could grab my few items.  As my arms started to go numb from carrying her, I decided to lay her in the cart not expecting her to stay asleep.  Miraculously she stayed asleep and continued to sleep as we finished our shopping, got back into the car, drove home and then transported to her bed.  I guess you can say
she was one tired little girl!

Cape Codder

We took our 2nd annual trip to the Cape Codder with friends from town.  15 kids and 12 adults made for a fun weekend away.  Swimming, playing, eating and drinking...doesn't get better than that in the middle of one of the worst winters on record!

It's a Family Affair

Yep..that's how we do it in the Dugas household....

Go Patriots!

Golf Masters

Will is in love with golf.  He watches Golf Central and practices his putting in the family room on a daily basis.  He recently told Eric that whenever he watches the pro golfers on tv, he feels it in is belly that he wants to play with them so bad.  I will admit that for a 6 year old with not much experience he has a really good swing.  Will has been dying to hit golf balls so I took the boys to the indoor driving range near our house on their day off from school.   They both loved it and could have hit bucket after bucket of balls if I had let them.

Before we left, Sara wanted in on the action and took a couple swings on her own.  She always has to do what her brothers are doing.  Of course she does it in style....

Sara Monster

Sara has been IMPOSSIBLE to put to bed at night.  It's been going on for about 3 weeks now.  I thought it was a phase but it is turning into a really looooong phase.  She just will not go to sleep at night and we have found ourselves on the couch watching tv at 10pm with a 2 year old sitting next to us.  We had a brief couple of days where she went down early but that didn't last very long.  Last night she went down early and at 10:30pm we heard a noise on the stairs and who do we find sitting there but Miss Sara.  This was the look I got when I told her she had to go back to bed.  Yep...we are going to be in trouble when she gets older.
I also tried the no nap during the day to see what would happen.  It worked one day but after that it backfired because she fell asleep on the couch at 4pm and then wouldn't go to bed a night.  We have started calling her Sara Monster because she is being so impossible.  However, now if we call her anything else she says "No, I Sara Monster".  Fingers crossed that we get back to normal sleeping sometime soon!
