Strawberry Picking

Jack, Sara and I went strawberry picking with some friends before Will got out of school.  We were excited to pick some yummy strawberries to eat.  It was a hot day but the kids had fun walking through the fields in search of the best strawberries.  Sara picked an entire container and then proceeded to eat the entire container before we even left the field.  Jack picked and ate along the way. We ended the day with a half a container of strawberries after picking two containers worth.  Oh well...fresh picked strawberries are better than refrigerated strawberries anyways.

Last Day of School!

Today is the last day of 1st grade!!  It was a great year for Will.  He made some new friends, learned how to read, was a great student (most of the time) and overall fully enjoyed his 1st grade experience.  We are all excited for the summer...no more lunches to pack, schedules to follow, (and my favorite) homework to fight over.  I know the next two months are going to fly by so we plan to enjoy every minute of them.  Cheers to a great school year and an even better summer!

First day of 1st grade.

Trophy Time

We had our last sports filled weekend of the season.  As happy as I am to have it all end so we can have our weekends back, I am a little sad because the boys had so much fun playing.  It was a crazy schedule but we made it to all the games and practices and had fun doing it.  Now we get to enjoy a two month break before fall sports picks up again!

Sassy Sara doesn't miss a chance to be in a picture.

The day started off rainy but stopped just in time for soccer. Will's team was missing quite a few players today but did a great job despite not having any subs.

Unfortunately, Jack's last tball team was rained out so no trophy picture this year.
But fortunately, he was able to play his last soccer game.   Jack did so awesome this season. We moved him up a level so he was the youngest kid on his team.  He loved it and had so much fun playing on the big field and did a great job holding his own.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to three awesome dads!
I just wanted one nice picture of Eric and the kids. Only Will would cooperate for me......

Author's Day

We had Will's Author's Day at school this past week.  This event provide the kids the opportunity to share some of the writings and poetry they wrote over the course of the year.  Each child had a turn in front of the class reading their stories.  I was so impressed at how well all of them did standing in front of a room of 40+ people!  Will did a great job even with Sara yelling ''Hi Will" when it was his turn up at the microphone.   We took a video of Will but it was too long to post but here is a brief clip.+

Day at the Museum

With Will still in school until the end of June, Jack, Sara and I had time to enjoy some "pre-summer" activities before Will got out of school.  We went swimming, played with friends and enjoyed some fun outings to fill our time.  On one of the cloudy days, we spent the morning at the Providence Children's Museum.  Jack was anti-museum at first because that's usually his reaction to doing something without Will.  But after 5 minutes of being there, he was hooked and loved every minute of it.  The favorite activity of the day was the magnetic boards.

Where the Figawi?

Memorial day weekend we enjoyed an adult only getaway on Nantucket with good friends.  Three days and two nights of shopping, eating, drinking and doing whatever we want. While the weather wasn't exactly beach weather, it was sunny with no rain so we couldn't complain too much. We've been spoiled lately with all the vacation time Eric and I have been getting. First it was Bahamas for 5 days and now Nantucket.  Lucky for us we have great parents willing to take the kiddos so we can getaway!
