End of Summer

Tonight is the last night before school begins.  The past two months went by way too fast.  As I am preparing everything for tomorrow morning, I am looking at the pile of math worksheets, reading logs, writing journals that we didn't quite make it all the way through.  I had good intentions that I was going to make Will sit down to do 2 math sheets a day and practice his site words.  However, summer got in the way and I think its a good thing.  Will may not have practiced his math but he learned a lot this summer, along with Jack and Sara.   Which, in the grand scheme of life, are just as important as learning to do his math facts.

Here's a rundown of all we learned this summer:

1. Will battled his nerves and went down the waterslide (and learned quickly how much he loved it!!)
2. Jack finally jumped into the deep end (and didn't stop doing it all summer!)
3. Sara discovered how awesome the ocean is and fell in love with it.
4. We learned how fun taking a selfie can be
5. And how to gain VIP access to the ice cream truck
6. Sara learned how to use the potty.  Yay Sara!  After 7 years, we are done with diapers!

7.  And more importantly, how to strike a pose.
8.  We learned how fun family bike rides are
9. And that practice makes perfect.
10.  We learned the importance of good friends....
11. .....and family

 12.  We learned that that mini golfing with a 2 year old requires a lot of patience

 13.  Lastly, we learned how fun but exhausting summer can be!!

Catch Up

I have A LOT of pictures to catch up on from the summer. I'm a little overwhelmed at the moment because I don't know where to start.  Of course instead of posting all summer pictures, I started digging through old pictures.  I came across a few I never posted.  These were taken almost exactly a year ago in October 2014.  Seeing that it's the night before my boys go off to 2nd grade and kindergarten, I figured I'd post because I can't believe how quickly they are all growing up.  I blinked my eyes and Jack went from a baby to a kindergartener.  The scary thing is it is going even faster for Sara.  I'll get to posting summer pictures soon but I am going to stare at these sweet faces for a little longer.

Santa's Village

I've been wanting to take the kids to Santa's Village since I've heard great things about it.  Eric took the week off and we were planning to spend it at the Cape.  Last minute we decided to make a detour up to Santa's Village for an overnight before heading to the Cape.  We drove upon Sunday, spent the afternoon at the park and then got up the next morning and went back before heading home.  The kids had a blast!!  We did all the rides, got to see Santa, and enjoyed the water park.  It was the best spur of the moment family getaway!!

Me and My Girl

Sara and I were playing around with my camera the other day and we got a few really cute pictures!  There is nothing like stopping to smell the flowers sometimes.
