Christmas came and went faster than I even expected it to this year. The boys started talking about Christmas well before Thanksgiving and every day there were 101 questions about when Santa was coming, what he was going to bring, how would he get into the house and any other question a 3 and 4 year old could come up with. I'm not complaining at all since it makes the Christmas season so much more magical, but it gets a little difficult after a while trying to come up with the "why and how" for these questions. I have to say the most difficult to explain (and I'm still not really sure I did a good job) is why there were Elf's on the Shelf in boxes being sold at the store. Hmm....I was pulling things out of the air for those questions when we encountered it one day in the store. Stores seriously need to consider hiding those things to save parents from having to explain why they were sitting in a box and not at the North Pole with Santa.
A few days leading up to Christmas, the boys were bouncing of the walls in anticipation. I was worried by the time Christmas came they would be so exhausted that they would be too tired to enjoy it. Well I didn't need to worry about that. Fortunately they had enough adrenaline to carry them through Christmas, just in time to crash the day after.
Anyways, onto the pictures. I'll be posting the pictures in installments since I have a lot. Up first.... Christmas Eve!
Of course it wouldn't be Christmas (or any holiday for that matter) without getting a few photos dressed in our holiday best. Poor Sara drew the short stick and had to wear the snowman costume to start. She was a trooper for a few minutes...
...but decided very quickly that she didn't like being dressed up as a snowman and wasn't going to take it any more.
So we got rid of the costume to take a few more nice photos. However, Sara was too into touching her dress to bother looking at that camera.
Then I wanted to get a picture of the two boys together. Surprisingly, they were willing to pose for me.
However, it proved to be just too tempting....
.......and ended up in a wrestling match which quickly ended the photo session.
Sara was in awe of her dress and was amused by the fact that she could pull it up to her face and put it in her mouth. I couldn't get any pictures of her for a while because all she wanted to do was stick her dress in her mouth.
Next, we headed to my parents house for Christmas Eve.
I went a little overboard on the pictures of Sara but she was just so darn cute in her dress that I couldn't resist.
One of my favorite pictures...
Before dinner, we got a visit from Santa! Jack was so excited to see him. The first thing he asked Santa as he was walking through the door was where his presents were.
Once Santa left it was time to open presents. The boys were about ready to burst and weren't going to last much longer if we didn't let them start opening. However, once the present opening started I don't think Jack said a word. I've never in his entire 3 years of life heard this boy as quiet as he was opening the gifts. I think he was so overwhelmed that he didn't even know what to say.
Sara and her stash of presents.
The favorite gift of the night...Leonardo ninja sword. Will has been talking about this sword for 3 months.
